93.3 WMMR Rocks with Preston and Steve in the Morning

Lets face it, mornings are hard; so let Preston and Steve from 93.3 FM make them easier with gut bursting laughter. Waking up with a good laugh is something everyone is entitled to, and WMMR brings that to life with their hilarious duo in the mornings. If their names sound familiar, that’s because Preston and Steve were originally from the old radio station Y100. Their show was too good not to live on, so therefore we are now enjoying their craziness on 93.3 WMMR in Philadelphia, which is Philly’s hottest Rock station. Their goofy antics and sidesplitting skits are not like any other morning radio show you’ve listened to before. I had recently interviewed Preston. I spoke with him about their change over from Y100 to WMMR and what is going on with their show now, and I learned some new and interesting facts about the two of them.

Preston and Steve have been friends for almost a decade. They first met at WDRE back in 1996, but were not doing a radio show together just yet. Steve was off doing promotions for WDRE and Preston was doing their afternoon show. Little did they know that they would be one of the most popular voices of Philadelphia just a few years later. Their friendship and devotion to radio has given them nothing but positive outcomes ever since. Now they are part of the WMMR team and bringing lots of fun and excitement to your morning. For all you Preston and Steve fans out there I’m sure you already know that some of their most talked about segments from Y100 have been carried over to WMMR. Preston stated, “We have a few things carried over from Y100, like the Bizzaro Files, Hollywood Trash, and the focus on Pop Culture.’ I also asked him how they prepare for each show and how they gather their material. “We are constantly preparing for each show by always checking our emails, checking out the news, and finding out what is going on in the community at the current time’ Preston explained. My all time favorite part of their show is the Hollywood Trash. Hey, lets face it, we all have a guilty pleasure for juicy celebrity gossip, and we don’t have to go far to find it. They also took with them the Bizzaro Files; which is a segment where they report all the bizarre and off the wall news stories from around the world. And, of course they always report their feelings on all of today’s Pop Culture, which makes Preston and Steve stand out from all the others. They have chatted with many celebrities and important people of our time like: Tom Cruise, Peter Jennings, Rob Zombie, John Travolta, Dolly Parton, Bam Margera, and many more. I know what you’re thinking, “what a wide variety of people.’ But, that is why Preston and Steve are so unique. They have a little something to satisfy every listener’s taste, which in return makes everybody happy. Actually one of their favorite interviews was Dolly Parton, which I thought was very interesting. Preston said, “She was very down to earth and extremely funny.’ She made them feel at ease and comfortable. Preston also told me: “Patrick Duffy was also a favorite of ours; his sense of humor was great’. Though they are focused on being a little nutty and non-stop funny, they also have huge hearts. Preston and Steve will be hosting “Camp Out for Hunger’ at the Metroplex Shopping Center December 5 through December 9 2005, which is helping the less fortunate have a happier holiday season.



So, if you’re not yet a listener of Preston and Steve in the morning you should be. Trust me, you will not find any other morning radio show with more endless comedy and off the wall tricks and skits. Around 5:30 am they play some segments from the show the day before. They go live from 6am to 10am Monday through Friday. By listening to these two, you will arrive to work with a better attitude and a better mind set by just tuning into WMMR while on your commute. Just keep in mind that the most historical morning show in Philadelphia is by far awarded to Preston and Steve from 93.3 WMMR.
