RISE UP ...A Lesson Learned
by Heather Ellis

The date: June 29th 2006. The place: Bootleggers. The Band: Octane. The event you won't want to miss…the release of Octane's new CD: RISE UP.
Having played with such national acts as Fuel, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Three Doors Down, and Sevendust, Octane is no stranger to the spotlight. The release of RISE UP is sure to make the local record books and be a monumental event for the band.
Octane's previous albums include, "Octane", "When All is Said and Done", and an EP, "Forgiveness". To date, they have sold over 15,000 albums and have had 2,000 radio spins and counting. Songs from these releases have also been featured on the Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball Soundtrack and were heard live on 93.3 WMMR on Fat Tuesday 2006 when Octane's performance was broadcast as part of the Preston & Steve Morning Show.
The new CD will give fans a look into the heart and soul of Octane. Great rhythmic guitars, and powerful drums, are the soundtrack to the vivid tell tale lyrics that will take you through the journey of turmoil, despair, absolution, and reconciliation. The disk features twelve new tracks including the moving ballad, "Let You Down", and the addictive "Audiokiss". Other rock tracks include "Delta Red" and "Enemy" that are sure to please. "Broken Hearted", which is also on the disk, already has over 12,500 plays on Octane's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/octanerocks .
Those that attend the Bootleggers bash will be treated to a 90 minute live performance from Octane that will include many songs from the new CD as well as a few old favorites. The concert will be followed by an after party and autograph session where fans can interact with the band.
Recently, Octane played the Theater of the Living Arts on South Street with Constantine Maroulis where they have also headlined to sold out crowds. They participated in a Hurricane Katrina Benefit at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ and also rocked the Trocadero in Philadelphia. In the coming months, Octane will be playing a series of A & R showcases in New York. Included in these shows are performances at the notorious Snitch at 59 W 21st Street. Another note worthy performance will take place on July 1st 2006 when Octane will open for Buck Cherry at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ.
Tickets to the CD release party at Bootleggers can be purchased in advance only, while they last, for $10 at Octane shows.
