LAUREN HART at the WORLD CAFE LIVE

On January 14th I had the pleasure of attending Lauren Hart’s CD release concert for “5 Lifetimes” at the World Café Live. Lauren’s vocals & musical talent took the sold out crowd on an amazing journey for 90 minutes. This was my first experience seeing Ms. Hart perform live & now I can see why she has such a loyal following. The acoustics at the World Café Live were a perfect platform for Lauren’s musical talents. She has a very talented band that compliments her style. Her music & personality completely connected with the audience that night. She was full of smiles, joking & having fun being on stage. The audience was delighted to hear a mix of songs spanning Lauren’s career. One of the new songs she performed that night “Watch That Girl” is an upbeat tune with a very catchy chorus. During another new song “Five” she shows her musical versatility by putting aside her guitar for the keyboards.  She also did 2 cover songs, Tears For Fears “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” & Paul McCartney’s “Coming Up”, which is featured on her new CD. Lauren’s version of this Wings classic is completely refreshing & takes on a life of it’s own. The new CD “5 Lifetimes” is Lauren’s third solo release & it reminds us that no matter what cards we’re dealt in life, we can still come out with a winning hand. It’s full of hope & inspiration, as it marks the 5th year of her remission from cancer. The highlight of the night for me was meeting Ms. Hart after the show at the CD signing. She happily chatted with fans, signed CDs, posed for pictures & thanked everyone for their support. I for one can’t wait for her next show & judging by the reaction she got that night, either can the rest of the audience.
