SPOTLIGHT ON: FLOW

Flow-- the name of this newly formed band says it all. “We go with the flow,” says lead singer Michael Ferrara, “no restrictions, no bounds.”

Since their debut only a few weeks ago, Flow is already creating a buzz on the local band scene. They have been playing at some of the biggest rooms around- Spectators, The Lagoon, Kildare’s in West Chester, Top Dog, and 15 North to name a few. Their focus is on entertainment and having fun and their energy really translates to the crowd.

But what really sets Flow apart from other local cover bands is their commitment to rock and roll. The band will still play the mainstream favorites, but they want to get away from some of the cliché and add a little more edge to their performances. “People are drawn to the different material and the amount of energy” says Ferrara.
Flow has a diverse song list. On any given night, they play anything from classics like “Livin on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, to newer music like “I’m Not Okay” by My Chemical Romance or “Mr. Brightside” by the Killers. They usually play around 40 songs or three 50 minute sets a night. There are no rules to what can happen. Flow is there to entertain and they will do whatever it takes to make sure the crows is having fun.

The five men behind Flow are all talented musicians who have bring years of experience of playing on local circuit in Pennsylvania and New Jersey hot spots. They all value each others talents, the music, and want to keep on progressing.

Michael Ferrara aka “Peaches” formerly of the Loop is on lead vocals. Mark Burkert of Lima Bean Riot is on guitar. Vince Foschini of Hurricane Jane is on guitar. On bass is James Smith who is the 2005 winner of the Best Bassist Award in Philly. Finally on drums is Kevin Ott, formerly of Last Man Standing.

Flow can be seen at every Tuesday from 10pm to 2am at Spectators in Gloucester, New Jersey for the All Star Acoustic Jam. Check out their website at www.flowrocks.net to find out where and when Flow is playing near you.
