The band, Another Reaction, is getting great reactions from audiences of all ages. People enjoy the authentic full band sound which is created through a combination of live performance and audio background tracks. “If you didn’t see the two us when we performed,” says Marcia Galambos, “you would think we were a full band.”
The talented duo behind Another Reaction is Tony Marco and Marcia Galambos. Both bring a lot of talent and experience to Another Reaction. Galambos has over 15 years of vocal training. Marco has been in and out of different bands since he was 15 years old and has been playing professionally since 1984 . They met while playing in another local band, the Rockets, and hit it off instantly. Together, they formed Another Reaction last January and have been playing exclusively with one another since September.
Another Reaction prides themselves on their ability to entertain all ages and play at any type of venue. “I haven’t seen a sour face yet, whether they are 22, 32, 42, or in their 50s” says Marco. Marco and Galambos play a variety of music from modern songs by Coldplay, No Doubt, Third Eye Blind, and hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. The pair has performed in the casinos in Atlantic City, different shore points in Wildwood, Avalon, and Sea Isle, venues in and around the Philadelphia area, and private parties.
In order to create the sound of a full band, the pair uses pre-recorded audio tracks for rhythm, bass, drums, and guitar to augment their live performances. Marco plays the guitar and Galambos plays the keyboard. A lot of people are skeptical when they first see us because they wonder if we are actually playing because unlike at lot of other bands doing the same thing- we are,” says Marco.
What separates Another Reaction from other duos who use similar techniques is the quality. Marco and Galambos are serious about their music and committed to the integrity of their work. “We aren’t like other bands that have cheesy fade outs and act like they are the Brady Bunch.” All of the vocals you hear are live. Even the background tracks they use are previous recordings of themselves playing mixed with some digital sounds and effects. One of the benefits of playing this way for Marco is that he has the opportunity make sure that everything is as close to perfect vocally and instrumentally. “Putting together the tracks is very time consuming and I am very anal,” says Marco, “so its takes a lot of effort.”
Aside from the quality of the music, Another Reaction is concerned with making sure the audience is having fun. “Sometimes you also get a comedy show,” says Galambos. They are very interactive and what they call ‘party orientated.’ The audience is encouraged to get involved and let loose to the music.
Marko and Galambos consider their time in Another Reaction as the happiest they have ever been. “We hope that we can keep things going, keep doing what we love, and eventually take the show down to Disney World,” say Marko and Galambos.
